Cinderella Ice Cream Seller goes to Edinburgh!

I’m really pleased to share that Cinderella Ice Cream Seller, a new musical for families, will be heading to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer.

The show runs at the Ermintrude, at Underbelly, Bristo Square from 30 July – 17 August at 11:40am. Tickets are on sale now.

The show is written by David Gibb and produced by Little Seeds Music. It’s full of live music, bold storytelling and big emotions- a contemporary fairytale that’s also a love letter to friendship, ambition and very good ice cream.

The team and I are really proud of how this one punches above its weight as a musical, and with just two actor musicians onstage. One reviewer from our Oxford Christmas run called it “Nick Cope meets Operation Mincemeat”, which we’ll definitely take!

Creative Team:

Directed by Tristan Jackson-Pate
Written and Composed by David Gibb
Dramaturgy by Renata Allen
Design by Victoria Spearing
Props by Jana Lakatos
Lighting Design by Nomi Everall
Sound Design by James Ball
Performed by Lauren Harthorpe and David Gibb
Produced by Ellie Dimmock

Little Seeds have been supported by a Keep It Fringe grant and are really excited to share the show with new audiences, industry and programmers. More soon!

Tristan Jackson-Pate

My name is Tristan Jackson-Pate and I am a theatre maker.

I make theatre that’s hopeful and curious about the world, rooted in the belief that stories can change the way we see it.

Since 2015, I’ve been Artistic Director of the award-winning People’s Theatre Collective, where much of my work has focused on creating theatre with and for young people. I’ve also worked with wonderful organisations including Oxford Playhouse, Creation Theatre and Nottingham Playhouse. My productions have been seen on over 100 stages across the UK.

I’m an Associate Artist with Royal & Derngate, Human Story Theatre and a Mentor Director for National Theatre Connections. In 2026 I was the proud recipient of the Peggy Ramsay Foundation grant for Playwriting.

As a facilitator I aim to create inclusive spaces that empower participants to discover their potential regardless of background. A drive to reduce inequality and increase opportunity underpins my work in theatre and with the charities Arts Emergency and Sophie's Silver Lining Fund.
