
Song of the Summer opens 11 August at The Picturedrome, Northampton
I’m currently in rehearsals for his new gig theatre play ‘Song of the Summer’, a co-production between Cherwell Theatre Company and Royal & Derngate. The show plays at The Picturedrome from 11-21 August.

My new play ‘Sam and Zoe Vs Evermore’, co-written with Jess Lloyd-Jones and Krage Brown is now on tour.

Song of the Summer
My next production as a writer/director will be ‘Song of the Summer’, playing at the Picturedrome Music Venue Northampton from August 11-28 2022.
This piece, co-produced by Cherwell Theatre Company and Royal & Derngate has been in development for several years. Arts Council England Funded research and development with Birmingham Old Rep Theatre in 2019 and Royal & Derngate supported further digital work in 2020 as part of their ‘Generate Festival’.
The play will be staged in August following weeks of outreach and community work with young people in Northampton, who will perform alongside professional actor musicians in the show itself.
More information on the cast and creative team will be released in due course.
Sam & Zoe Vs Evermore touring March-April 2022
I will co-write and direct Sam & Zoe Vs Evermore with Cherwell Theatre Company and Butterfingers with co-writers Krage Brown and Jess Lloyd-Jones.
The play will tour from March-April 2022 and visits Cheltenham, Banbury, Taunton, Oxford, Worthing, Wells Maltings, Bedford, Wolverhampton, Harrogate and Northampton.
This production is presented in partnership with Arts Council England, CALM, Oxfordshire Cultural Educational Partnership, Artswork, St Michael's Charities and Response.
Suddenly a Star plays at The Story Museum until January 2nd
I’ve just directed ‘Suddenly a Star’, a storytelling show written by and starring Renata Allen and David Gibb at The Story Museum, Oxford.
The show is 1 hour in duration and suitable for ages 5+. It runs until 2nd January.

I will soon direct ‘Suddenly A Star’ by David Gibb and Renata Allen this Christmas.
The show was created for Christmas 2020 and I will supervise this remount. It is produced by Little Seeds Music and the Story Museum.
The play will run at the Woodshed Theatre at the Story Museum from December 1st 2021 - January 3rd 2022
'Do You Accept?' screening this winter
Cherwell Theatre Company have just released a new trailer for ‘Do You Accept?’, which I wrote and directed earlier this year.
The film will be screened to over 1,000 children in primary schools this winter with accompanying live online workshops.
Pete Stays Home Documentary Screening
A documentary on ‘Pete Stays Home’, directed by Jonathan Ruffle is to be screened on 20th October at Lock 29’s cinema space in Banbury.
The film is 45 minutes in length and features footage of the show and interviews with the creative team, including the original book’s authors Karra McFarlane and Kim Hankinson.
It will also premiere simultaneously on Youtube at 6pm on 20th October.
The play is touring schools and theatres once more in October and November 2021.
MYTH II On Tour until 22 August
My new co-created play ‘MYTH II: Heroes and Halfwits"‘ is on tour across Oxfordshire until 22 August.
The play is produced by Cherwell Theatre Company, with design by Rachael Twyford and Rebecca Martin, movement direction from Emma Webb, musical supervision by Adrian Banks, stage management by Sofie Mirza and production support by Carmen Hoepper.
Pete Stays Home to tour again this Autumn
Pete Stays Home completed its Oxfordshire outdoor tour on 10 July in People’s Park, Banbury.
The production starred Ines Sampaio Figuierido, Josh Baldwin and Jenny Johns.
It will tour again in October and November 2021, with more dates in schools, community settings and arts centres.

I will direct MYTH II: Heroes and Halfwits, a sequel to my 2019 play MYTH this August.
The play is produced by Cherwell Theatre Company with movement direction by Emma Webb, music by myself and Adrian Banks and set and costume design by Rachael Twyford.

New play 'Pete Stays Home' by Renata Allen
I will direct Pete Stays Home, adapted by Renata Allen from the book by Karra McFarlane and Kim Hankinson this summer.
The show, which features songs co-written by myself and Joshua Baldwin will tour schools and early years centres in June and July, culminating in public performances in People’s Park, Banbury on July 10.
'Mr Stink' on tour until September 6
I’ve recently directed David Walliams’ Mr Stink for Heartbreak Productions.
The play, adapted by David Kirby-Kendall, features songs by Derry Pope and Choreography by Kath Waters.
It opened on June 4 tours the UK until September 6.
The Tell Your Story Festival
Tristan has produced the ‘Tell Your Story Festival’ with Cherwell Theatre Company. The project, which started online in January 2021 , culminated in a unique festival event staged in a multi-storey car park in Banbury on June 5.
This event was made possible due to support from Cherwell District Council, Oxfordshire Community Foundation, Hobson Charity and The Ragdoll Foundation.
'Mr Stink' for Heartbreak Productions
I’ve recently started rehearsals for David Walliam’s Mr Stink with Heartbreak Productions.

'Do You Accept' digitally touring this spring
My new film for young people is off on tour... in a manner of speaking.
Do You Accept is to be screened in Oxfordshire classrooms this spring, followed by live workshops facilitated by the actors; Krage Brown, Jess-Lloyd Jones and Alena Patel.
Over 300 children will interact with the project across the county.
The film has been produced by Cherwell Theatre Company, edited and animated by Yael Biran, with sound design by Adrian Banks.
New play 'Pete Stays Home' tours this spring
I will direct ‘Pete Stays Home’, a new play adapted by Renata Allen from the 2020 book by Karra McFarlane and Kim Hankinson, produced by Cherwell Theatre Company.
The play will tour school playgrounds, early years centres and outdoor settings this spring, with set and costume design by Rachael Twyford.
'Do You Accept?' in post production
We shot our new E Safety drama ‘Do You Accept’ (adapted from my 2017 play ‘The Web’) in December and the film is now in post-production.
The film, shot largely on green screen at Activate Learning’s Banbury Campus is to be edited by Yael Biran with composition by Adrian Banks and graphic design by Nadia Rich.
It will be screened in Oxfordshire schools with accompanying live workshops in March 2021.
Cherwell Theatre Company receive Arts Council Funding to adapt 'The Web'
We will adapt our 2017 schools play ‘The Web’ into a film in October/November with support from Arts Council England, Thames Valley Police, Oxfordshire Community Foundation and Cherwell District Council.
Online R&D with young people will be conducted in October, with filming over 2 weeks in November.
The film will be distributed with live online workshops attached for Oxfordshire schools in Spring 2021.
