'Do You Accept?' in post production

We shot our new E Safety drama ‘Do You Accept’ (adapted from my 2017 play ‘The Web’) in December and the film is now in post-production.

The film, shot largely on green screen at Activate Learning’s Banbury Campus is to be edited by Yael Biran with composition by Adrian Banks and graphic design by Nadia Rich.

It will be screened in Oxfordshire schools with accompanying live workshops in March 2021.

Cherwell Theatre Company receive Arts Council Funding to adapt 'The Web'

We will adapt our 2017 schools play ‘The Web’ into a film in October/November with support from Arts Council England, Thames Valley Police, Oxfordshire Community Foundation and Cherwell District Council.

Online R&D with young people will be conducted in October, with filming over 2 weeks in November.

The film will be distributed with live online workshops attached for Oxfordshire schools in Spring 2021.

'Sam and Zoe Vs Evermore' to appear at the Generate 7's Digital Artist Development Festival in November

A new play ‘Sam and Zoe Vs Evermore”, co-written with Jess Lloyd-Jones and Krage Brown will be featured in the form of Q&As, workshops and a sharing of a 15 minute filmed extract as part of the Generate 7’s Digital Artist Development Festival.

The event is scheduled for the first week in November and 6 other supported artists of the Royal and Derngate Theatre will also share their work.

Sam and Zoe Vs Evermore receives Arts Council Funding for research and development

Butterfingers have received ACE funding to develop “Sam and Zoe Vs Evermore” a new game theatre comedy inspired by Dungeons and Dragons. An R&D process will take place in March in Banbury and Oxford with participatory opportunities for young people through Cherwell Theatre Company.

'Sam and Zoe Vs Evermore' at the Oxfordshire Theatre Makers Showcase

Butterfingers, in Association with Cherwell Theatre Company were one of 5 Oxfordshire based companies to share an extract of new work with an industry audience at the “OTM Emanate Showcase” at the Old Fire Station Theatre, Oxford.

The Dungeons and Dragons inspired game theatre comedy is due to tour in Spring 2021.

Tristan's new play 'Myth' tours outdoor locations in Oxfordshire this August

Tristan will write, direct and co-compose music for a new play ‘Myth’ inspired by Greek Mythology, which will tour outdoor locations in Oxfordshire this August, produced by Cherwell Theatre Company.

‘CTC’ present vibrant community theatre productions in which young people work with a professional creative team and alongside a cast of actors to bring accessible theatre into the North Oxfordshire community, breaking down barriers for those who would not usually see live performance.

In this production, commissioned by their Young Company, the team will bring to life classical myths of ancient Greece, with live music, puppetry and a Greek chorus to boot!

Each performance is free to attend, with no booking necessary and the company will be joined by local bands and community groups who will perform alongside them.

Tristan to direct 'The Changing Room' and 'Dungeness', student productions at Pegasus Theatre

Tristan will direct two plays from the 2018 NT Connections festival in June and July, for Pegasus Theatre, Oxford.

Students on the ‘Boom Satsuma’ course will perform in ‘The Changing Room’ by Chris Bush and ‘Dungeness’ by Chris Thompson. The plays explore adolescence and LGBTQ+ issues respectively and will be performed both at Pegasus Theatre and in local schools, as part of the course’s Theatre in Education module.

Public performances will take place on July 12, with full details to be announced shortly.

Arts Council England Fund Research and Development for new play 'Super Group'

Tristan has been awarded a grant from Arts Council England to develop his new play for young people ‘Super Group’, which explores the highs and lows of teenage musicians.

Research and Development will take place in April at Birmingham Old Rep Theatre, where Tristan is an Associate Artist in 2019-20.

Students from Birmingham Ormiston Academy will take roles in the play’s development, with other creatives to be confirmed soon.

National Lottery Funding for new play 'Myth'

Tristan has received a Big Lottery Project Grant to produce a new play ‘Myth’, which he will write and direct for Cherwell Theatre Company in August.

The play explores Greek Mythology and will be performed with a part professional, part community cast of young people in North Oxfordshire.

The play tours to several outdoor locations including new build housing developments, parks, festivals and youth centres August 18-26.

Tristan to compose music for 'Suitcase Stories 2'

Tristan will facilitate reminiscence sessions with participants with dementia and their carers and compose music for an album produced by ‘Arts Uplift’ and funded by Arts Council England in 2019.

The project entitled ‘Suitcase Stories 2’ kicks off in October with 3 different artists contributing 3 songs, arranged, recorded and produced by Adrian Banks.

Tristan to Direct new plays on student mental health in collaboration with Human Story Theatre and Oxford Brookes University

Tristan will Direct a series of short plays in association with Human Story Theatre and Oxford Brookes University in May, as part of the 'Think Human Festival.

New shorts by Playwrights Gaye Poole and Nick O'Dwyer will be showcased at a 'Scenes From' event at the University on 24 May.

Other plays on the subject of mental health, written by the University's Creative Writing and Drama students will be performed and a Q&A session with members of local mental health support services will follow.

Tristan's production of The Wind in the Willows, a co-production between Cherwell Theatre Company and Creation Theatre with Design by Ryan Dawson Laight, Lighting by Sarah McColgan, Sound by Matt Eaton and Adrian Banks, Fight Direction by Ronin Traynor and choreography by Suzette Neptune has opened at the Mill Arts Centre in Banbury.

The production runs until 30 December.
